Microblading

    WHAT IS MICROBLADING

Microblading is a  semi-permanent cosmetic procedure to create fuller more defined brows specifically tailored to each client. A stylist uses a pen-like tool to create small individual strokes in your skin. After pigment is added, these strokes mimic natural hairs. Microblading is perfect for those who are looking to enhance their brow density, or change their eyebrow shape.

WHEN WE WON'T SERVICE YOUR BROWS:

You are pregnant. We just do not want to risk an infection when you are carrying something so precious. Come and see us to put some pep in your step once your bundle has arrived and you are done breastfeeding.

You are prone to keloids. We want your brows to heal nicely and patients prone to keloids could end up with keloids being a central focus on your face. Also, the colour is less likely to stick, both things we all want to avoid.

You are undergoing chemotherapy or have within the past six months. Call us once six months have passed and your immunity is robust.

You have dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoo or permanent makeup. Microblading requires we are able to simulate individual hairs, if the brows are too dark this wouldn't be possible.  In some cases a consultation may be performed to assess the situation.

You have any kind of skin condition on or near your eyebrows. Some skin conditions include eczema, shingles, rashes, or anything else near your eyebrows.

You are under the age of 18. BROWS BY STEF Microblading does not perform any services on people under 18, even with parental consent.

REQUIREMENTS BEFORE EYEBROW MICROBLADING:

  • No Botox treatments should be done 3 weeks prior or 4 weeks after procedure

  • No chemical peels 60 days before or after procedure (brows will peel quicker due to chemicals traveling under the skin)

  • No Retinols/Retin-A or other anti-aging/acne creams, or serums containing acids as these will fade brows prematurely

  • Do not work out or sweat heavily the day of the procedure (or 2 weeks after)

  • Do not tan or have a sunburned face the day of the procedure

  • No waxing or tinting 3 days before procedure

  • Stop taking aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil, CoQ10 and ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure

  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hrs before procedure

 THE HEALING PROCESS

Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear very natural looking immediately after the procedure followed by:

The color of the pigment will appear much darker the next day or so.
After the first week your brows may seem to fade or ‘dissapear’ as they heal and possibly develop micro-scabs.
Week 3-4 will be a phase of “blooming color” as the skin is healed and the color surfaces and looks beautiful.
The final pigment and look of your eyebrows will be apparent approximately 6-8 weeks after your first appointment.
A perfecting session at 6 to 8 weeks will be done so we can adjust the shape and density to perfection.

IS MICROBLADING THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOU?

What makes microblading unique from brow tattooing is the levels and placement of the ink being more shallow. This results in a more natural appearance. Because microblading strokes are fine, they will fade, most often between one to three years, varying from client to client.

" Is it painful?".......Some clients report small levels of discomfort, but this is rare and depends on each individual.   For each appointment, we build 30 minutes of anesthetic processing time to make sure you are protected from discomfort.
